MARTIN

DEC. 27, 2011

LAX-JFK

WHY ON THIS FLIGHT: I commute regularly between Los Angeles and New York. I work in the aerospace industry in California and produce theater in NYC (Broadway and off-Broadway)

FUN FACT: I travel all over the world for solar eclipses and marathons. In Nov 2012 I will be going to Port Douglas, Australia (near Cairns in Queensland) for a marathon, that will start with an eclipse.

BUCKET LIST: Win a Tony Award for producing a musical.

GUILTY PLEASURE: I NEVER answer the phone if it is interrupting something I consider more important.

*MY TWO CENTS*: Martin is a dichotomy...the aerospace industry and the entertainment industry. I wouldn't automatically associate those two things with each other. I love the fact that he has traveled all over to view eclipses. I am surprised when I can remember to set my alarm to see an eclipse. It will always amaze me, the diversity of the people that I would never have gotten get to meet, if I were not writing this blog!

BUCKET LIST: I want to visit Australia... visit all the ballparks in the MLB

GUILTY PLEASURE: stay all day in bed reading historic novels and drinking good coffee.

*MY TWO CENTS*: I absolutely loved him, he was so worried about his spelling and the language difference, but he was willing to give it a try! He and the people he was traveling with were so cute. The only problem with writing this blog. I end up adding more things to my bucket list... Chichen Itza has officially been added!

WHY ON THIS FLIGHT: Returning home to get to work.

FACT: I have hiked Masada in Israel before dawn and watched the sun rise over the Dead Sea

BUCKET LIST: I need to get to Europe, but would love to spend time in Australia and New Zealand, way out in the remote parts of the countries.

GUILTY PLEASURE: Going straight to the front of the security line at the airport using my airport ID badge.

*MY TWO CENTS*: Rich is a follower on twitter @PaxIn11D and sent me a tweet and picture of his boarding pass...11D. I asked him if he would like to fill out the questionnaire and he did! I am so happy to have any guest contributors. In regards to his responses, I would love to see the sunrise over the Dead Sea. I am sure it was an amazing view. The security line is bitter sweet... nice that we are ushered up to the front of the line (at most airports), but a drag that we have to go through airport security every single day we work.

*MY TWO CENTS: I love the fact that he supports so many organizations especially in the field of Research & Education. In America’s Finest City, San Diego, there is always a fight over funding for libraries or a new Ball Park. That would seem like a no brainer to me, libraries. Education, Education, Education!

BUCKET LIST:
Visit Australia, New Zealand, Go to Alaska, Increase the size of my woodworking shop, Go to Banff National Park; Lake Louise

As you can see by his answers, they get longer as he continues to answer the questions. I especially love the fact that he wants to get married again. I know so many people that one time is enough (whether it ends in divorce or not). Me? I have been married 17 ½ years and I still love it. When I talk about my husband everyone thinks I am newly married. I really love my husband dearly. He is my best friend with benefits!

WHY ON THIS FLIGHT: I’m traveling to Australia to surprise my sister on the day of her wedding. Originally I didn’t intend to go as it was a last minute type wedding and it’s expensive to travel so far on such short notice. That may sound uncaring, but that’s not true. I’m saving for my wedding, me and my fiance have bought a house, and my sister just out of the blue, (4 kids and 12 years later) decides she has to get married! So I decided to put everything aside and be there if I could. Should be an awesome surprise, plus none of my family knows I’m coming!

FACT: I was Seymour in my high school play “Audrey II” based on “Little House of Horrors” when I was 13. Looking back, I really messed it up and am incredibly embarrassed, but I guess I was the best of a bad bunch.

BUCKET LIST: To be able to play “46 and 2” by Tool (Danny Carey) on the drums. Be able to afford to travel between Canada & OZ with my girlie, once or twice a year. Become a wonderful cook, learn Italian and see Europe

GUILTY PLEASURE: Afternoon cuddle in the sun. Eating ice cream with chunky chocolate bits, in bed all with a delicious book! Listening to hard rock music with hard rocking beats and intricate riffs while driving and cursing at the drivers who don’t know where their indicators or accelerators are. Oh, and the music must be loud enough for people to be annoyed by it.

*MY TWO CENTS: What an interesting guy! (cute too). I better not post this before his sister’s wedding or it won’t be a surprise. How funny that we get to see his super sensitive side…”afternoon cuddles” and then we see the extreme opposite…cursing at drivers, while annoying them with LOUD hard rock music! I LOVE IT. I drive the 126 miles to work (one way) on CA freeways 805, 5 & 405, I completely understand the frustration. I hope he has a great time at the wedding. I love surprises and this one is FANTASTIC!!!

WHY ON THIS FLIGHT:  Too be with my family, been away too long.

FUN FACT:  Play Hockey (ice), I’m 49 & still playing. Been to Amsterdam, Holland (Netherlands) & recommend every adult to visit.

BUCKET LIST:  To visit Australia (outback) & scuba dive the great barrier reef. Oh and would like to take a trip to the Space station.

GUILTY PLEASURE: Take over for Hugh Hefner at the Playboy mansion.

*MY TWO CENTS: First time in a long time that we had a very light flight. No one was sitting in 11D so I asked the guy sitting in 12C. I am glad that I did, what great fun and funny answers. Take over for Hef….I don’t know if I will ever see that answer again. I love that bit about the Space Station, seriously….AIM HIGH! That would be an awesome once in a lifetime adventure!!!

WHY ON THIS FLIGHT: I am going to Chicago to visit the city for the 1st time, visit friends and celebrate my 25th birthday.

FUN FACT:  I used to bar tend at the W and now work at a Children's Hospital. I also keep a blog. My Dad delivered me when I was born. I have 2 tattoos and a B.S. from UCLA

BUCKET LIST: Triathlon, Graduate Pharmacy School, Travel around the world. Greece, Japan, NYC, Tahiti, Indonesia, Brazil, Spain, Amsterdam, Australia and Fiji

GUILTY PLEASURE:  Candy, Reality TV, wine, chap-stick

*MY TWO CENTS: First of all ~HAPPY BIRTHDAY~ Also, you should have given me your blog address...I would have happily promoted it here on my blog! I love that she has given us the two opposite sides of her personality that make up the whole! It is a great example of "don't judge a book by its cover". If you judge her on just the tattoos & bar tending, you'd never know or find out that she works in a Children's hospital and has a B.S from UCLA and vice versa!
