WHY ON THIS FLIGHT: Going to visit friends in Austin. A dear friend relocated there with her husband last summer. I will be spending four days riding bikes around Austin and surrounding hill country.

FUN FACT: I spent 6 months in Thailand back in the 70’s when it was a “war zone”. Lived among the people 18 miles from the Cambodian border. I love island vacations! Recent trip to Spain brought me home 3 days early due to a “life threatening” food poisoning. 

BUCKET LIST: 1. Hawaii - hopefully going next year for our 30th Anniversary
2- Grandchildren - hmmm, not sure I’ll be around long enough! Had my children late and they are on the path to do the same thing.

GUILTY PLEASURE: Reading a book ALL DAY - recliner works best, but on a beach is outstanding.

*MY TWO CENTS*: Unfortunately sometimes when I give these forms out, I don’t get a chance to talk to the person regarding their responses. This is one of those times. I would have loved to be able to talk to Joyce and get more info about Spain, Thailand, Cambodia etc.

*MY TWO CENTS*: It was perfect that Martha was on my flight on Valentine’s Day, because I love her. She even invited me to hangout in Austin sometime, and I love Austin…perfect!

WHY ON THIS FLIGHT: Why does anyone take a flight? To escape of course. Escape on a family vacation to Cabo San Lucas was our reason. Sure my son’s high school Sr. spring break trip was the excuse, but getting away with family and friends was our real intent. We have nearly 50 seniors and their families on this trip. What a great way to “really” get to know your kids friends and the families that raised them. I always thought my son had the best group of friends and extended families. Now I know why, they came from great families. A high school senior spring break is much more than just a vacation. It represents the final release of the tight grip you keep on a teenager as they start on their journey to college. Spring break for these seniors was special. You could see as the mom’s and dad’s started to loosen their grips during the last week that the 17-18 year olds started to celebrate their new freedoms. They started planning their own activities. They began to look and act more mature. They took responsibility for their actions and those of their friends. In one short week I watched my son grow. It’s not easy letting go but, I am comfortable knowing he is surrounded by great friends from wonderful, fun, warm, caring families.

As I sit in 11D on my way back to Ausitn, I realize my son who is sitting next to me, is escaping. Escaping to a new life as a mature, self sufficient, happy adult….and I’m as proud as ever.

*MY TWO CENTS*: Mike told me that he followed his own format and it doesn’t bother me one bit. I love the fact that he has such a great relationship with his son, especially at that age. I am very close to my parents, but I wasn’t always my wonderful self, especially when I was a senior in high school. What a wonderful way to end his vacation, by expressing all the happy memories and letting his son know how extremely proud he is of him.

WHY ON THIS FLIGHT: We are going to Austin, Texas for SXSW music festival, for Adam’s 25^th birthday.

FUN FACT: ADAM: I am an intsa-gram holic (iphone app), you will find me taking pictures of EVERYTHING and posting it on my photo blog (follow “Thatguyyoulike” on Instagram)
ALLISON: I am one of 7 children from the same parents! =) not Mormon LOL!

BUCKET LIST: ADAM: I want to travel the world and meet people whom I disagree with, see things that startle me, I want to see things that take my breath away.
ALLISON: For Mom & Dad to see me get married. (no one in particular =) ha-ha )

GUILTY PLEASURE: ADAM: Technology, but right now playing “Call of Duty”
ALLISON: watching reality TV.

*MY TWO CENTS*:OK, so there were not both sitting in 11D, actually neither of them were sitting in 11D. 11D was asleep the entire flight. They were super cute and super cool & super fun. It was great that they both filled out the questions and answers. I have run across a lot of people that are writing blogs also. It really is such a great creative outlet and a wonderful way to meet my passengers and document my amazing job.
